The relatively new New Brunswick shared risk plan (NB SRP) model has received a lot of attention and positive publicity over the past year, not only in NB and the rest of Canada, but also around the world. However, amidst these accolades, there are a number of significant shortcomings that have thus far not been particularly well-identified, understood, or communicated.

We have been advised that the Chief Justice of the Court of Queens Bench- Madame Tracey Deware will be case managing and  hearing outstanding motions which are now scheduled for November 30th and December 3rd  of this year.

Virtual information sessions with local riding candidates
As you are aware there will be a Federal election on Monday, September 20th.
Your Fredericton and District Branch (NB62) has been working hard to ensure that local candidates are aware of critical seniors’ issues. We also want to give our members an opportunity to hear where candidates stand on these issues.
As a result, the Fredericton and District Branch is holding a Federal Candidate Q&A session. We have invited local candidates to be available for a question-and-answer session with our members and the general public. This 90-minute session will be held September 14th at 7pm via Zoom. All members of the audience will have an opportunity to pose questions to the candidates.

Last October, Pension Coalition NB took part in a hearing as we moved forward with legal action against the Province of NB, with Judge Hugh MacLellan presiding. After that hearing, we were very concerned that Judge MacLellan was reflecting a bias against us and that our eventual hearing would not be a fair one.
