(Interjections.)

Mr. Speaker: Sit down, sir.

(Interjections.)

Mr. Speaker: We will recess the House until we clear the gallery.

(The House recessed at 2:18 p.m.

The House resumed at 2:27 p.m.)

020-021 14:27Mr. Speaker: We will start the clock again.

Hon. Mr. Alward: I am certainly pleased to stand up and respond to the questions of the Leader of the Opposition today. We have been going on this for quite a while, and you would think that, at some point, he would get it.

Mr. Gallant: It is imperative that we change our political culture in this province and across the

country.

(Interjections.)

Mr. Speaker: Order.

Mr. Gallant: If we need an example of how we need to change our political culture, the

government just gave it.

One of the aspects to that is to make sure that we are as transparent as possible. It is not only because the public, the voters, and the people of our beautiful province deserve to know what is happening with their government but also because it leads to better public policy. They are able to participate, they have the full information, and they can finally give suggestions and raise concerns with their government.

Petitcodiac River

Mr. Boudreau: My first question is for the Premier, and it is short and straightforward. Does he support the full restoration of the Petitcodiac River, including the construction of a bridge?

Hon. Mr. Williams: The bridge over the Petitcodiac River is part of an overall process that has been going on for many years. This government, since 2010, has been very rigorously following all the criteria from the EIA process, and we have been meeting all our obligations. Again, it is a three-phase process. We have already been following it, and significant investments went with those conditions. We will follow and maintain the process that has been put forward. Thank you.
